Hi everybody, I would just like to thank the good old Paisley Tartan Army for letting me take up some precious space on this great website, hopefully you'll find my little pieces entertaining, any way a little bit about myself.

To you people living in Scotland, it must seem absurd reading the bilge from a bloke not from Scotland about being Scottish.

For us growing up tho... it was never a question of what we were. My Grandfather was a big hard man...quiet...he served in both wars, homesteaded land in Western Colorado (really harsh place) Drove Cattle during the depression. He was a pilot in the RAF (before the US had an air force) in WWI and in WWII was put in charge of a base in Scotland near Perth.
He was later sent into the USSR, I think to get the Germans out of Stalingrad via Vladivostok...He had a skill for killing and surviving at a time when that was needed.  There was no time in his life when I wasn't sort of afraid of him at some level (I'm sure it would have been worse if I were German)
Anyway, his family is the one with Scots roots...from way back, but it was never a question...Presbyterians, bluish white skin tone, self reliant...
The reality is that we are mongrels I suppose...just like most everybody (Scotland is supposed to be 30% Irish from the industrial revolution, not to mention Asians and others)

It must be strange reading this for you guys back home...But it must have been strange for my Spanish and Japanese speaking neighbors growing up to have heard my orange haired family singing "Me Bonny, Bonny Boy" as well.

Scottish roots...Here's a few facts about Scots in America...

You know the declaration of Independence is a knock off of the declaration of Arbroath...

You know the Star Spangled Banner was written by a Scot.

You know that 22 signers of the declaration of Independence were Scots.
