Ukraine Home 13/10/07 Euro 2008

Well, I have to admit I feared that this might be the game that we'd slip up on, how wrong was I !!! Our wee day started off in Strathies bar as seems to be the norm these days! We weren't sure if we'd make it as the Post Office made things more difficult for us than they had to. However, with good fortune and lots of help most of us made it into Strathies for a few pre-match beers and some songs from the wonderful Ted Christopher.

Ted never fails to get the crowd in the right mood before these games, with his wonderful self penned patriotic songs and everything from Sidney Devine to the Bay City Rollers, that's right I said Sidney Devine!!! We were bouncing before we even hit Hampden. We brought along a new recruit today called Jamie, and he certainly seemed to enjoy himself. I think he'll be coming back, welcome to the gang Jamie!! Ted also brought along his biggest fans (apart from me of course) the slightly better looking than me "Tedettes" from Bonnybridge, ladies we salute you, you make a lot of old men very happy!! It was also great to meet up with our very own "Tartan Totty" Louise & Leanne, great to see you again girls, see you at the Italy game.

Onto the game itself then, and what a game!! Nine minutes gone and we were two nil up!! Bugger me! What a start! Despite a scare From Shevchenko we were in dreamland when wee McFadden scored a peach of a goal to kill them off and then it was party time! Back to Strathies beer garden for a few well deserved lagers and a wee chat to the Ayrshire boys, always good to see these guys, over the road for a wee bit of Karaoke in Allisons bar and then onto the big city itself. Great result, great day, sore heid in the morning, cannae wait 'till I do it all again!!!
